Sep 6, 2018 - I've had to reinstall and activate BW10 a handful of times within. In a short period of time, or they have shared their activation codes. We will do our best to insure compatibility of BibleWorks 10 with. Ensure you have keep your BibleWorks activation codes in a safe place.
For those who missed the June 15, 2018 deadline to purchase BibleWorks, this thread may be helpful. If there are BibleWorks users who no longer need BibleWorks (perhaps due to retirement?), I invite you to advertise the availability of your copy of BW on this thread, so that some one else may benefit from its use.
But my copies have all sold. I personally purchased a few thousand dollars' worth of BibleWorks before the deadline, in order to make them available to those who may have missed the deadline, but still wish to purchase BibleWorks. I hoped that this might help out a few people until, God willing, some store or school is authorized to resume selling BW10. This has not yet happened, but I keep praying. I offered the following for re-sale at cost, plus sales tax (6.25% which I am required to pay to my state) plus mailing (for USB drives). BibleWorks 10 on USB drive ($211.44 + mailing either first class or priority mail) all gone (I originally had 24 copies) As of July 29, 2018, I had a waiting list.
That list grew to over twice the number of original copies. (Plus I had many inquiries from outside the U.S.A. But they could not find a way to get dollars to me.) 1 BibleWorks 10 download ($211.44) quickly gone 2 BDAG and HALOT combination activation codes ($225.25) all gone Sorry I couldn't provide more, but I far underestimated how many I could sell how quickly.
I still have some upgrade activation codes from BW9 available. If you had BW9 and can purchase a copy of BW10 from someone else, let me know if you need an upgrade code, because I have one for you. If you have any questions about this, you may contact me via e-mail at my name (without a space) at att.net. May God bless our use of this tool to teach His word, and especially to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mark Eddy Mark, Thanks for doing this for people who missed the sale. I know of others who have done this as well and I even bought up a few myself, but those won't become available until other sources have dried up.
Therer are also a few resellers that have some stock. I want to emphasize to BW10 users that there is no reason to crossgrade to another package.
If BibleWorks 10 suits your needs they just keep using it. The forum and knowledge base will remain active as long as people find them helpful. Everyone else, We are exploring opportunities for the future. I cannot say anything now but if the Lord wills, BibleWorks may resurface in a form that is much better to suit the needs of the church. In the mean time we can be thankful for the generous spirit exhibited by Mark. We are not worthy of such users.
If this is allowed, I can make the Bibleworks10Rev4 ISO image download available for anyone who needs it, and I will pay for the bandwidth. That would be great. This is very kind of you. I would srecommend waiting a while though.
In early July we will be posting a BW10 ISO image that is the latest and greatest. Maybe not the final, but the last for a while. It will be available for free to anyone, but initially the servers may be a little congested and the more sites the better. But if you just want to make the ISO available to people who ordered USB drives and are enduring the backlog, I am sure some would appreciate it. I've got a BibleWorks 9 license which I wanted to upgrade to 10 but missed the (short) timeframe in which it was still possible to buy the upgrade license. If it is still possible to acquire it I'd be glad to hear how.
You cannot upgrade as that closed June 15. This is from a different thread but the information belongs here as well.

Do you still have copies for purchase? My copies of BW10 arrived today. So I can accept your orders. Please do not try to order through this forum.
Instead e-mail me at my name without a space at att.net (I hope you can figure out my e-mail address from this). I plan to keep the opening post up-to date, so you will know how many copies are available when you try to order one. I do have a week of conventions to attend, so if I do not get back to you before July 8, I won't get back to you until after the 15th.

Let me first say this: Bibleworks 10 is still absolutely the best Bible software.
It is very sad for me that the program cannot continue. But I will keep on using my BW 10 and the modules I have. Next year I am going on pension, but I want to do Psalm research. I hope DV that I may use BW10 still for many years.
Now my question: I know a young man who is still in school (son of a colleague, a minister), and he plans to go to the theological seminary next year. May I give my BW9 (not the modules which I have purchased) with the activation code and DVD to him for free?
Or do he have to pay Bibleworks for it? Looking forward to your answer and is still praying that there will come a way out for Bibleworks to go on again. Thank you very much for the staff of Bibleworks for the gold of Bibleworks. We thank God for the great work you did. In Christ AH (Attie) Bogaards.
I think it depends on how you obtained your BW10. If you paid for it fully, ie having no relationship to your BW9, then you surely can give it free to him. However, if your BW10 is an 'upgrade' from BW9, then you may not give your BW9 away. If I remember it correctly, an upgrade costs less than buying a full new copy.
This is a license consideration. Then, there is the technical consideration. Assume it is the former case, then you will need to inform BW staff that you have given your BW9 away to your friend and your friend needs to register the BW9 in his name. But, since BW9 (and all prior versions before BW10) is unlikely to be able to be activated, it seems the only way is to use a backup copy of your installed working BW9 folder to activate a newly installed BW9. Hopefully you have a installed and working BW9. I might be wrong but I should not be far off.
Let an official BW staff says the final word. Now my question: I know a young man who is still in school (son of a colleague, a minister), and he plans to go to the theological seminary next year. May I give my BW9 (not the modules which I have purchased) with the activation code and DVD to him for free? Or do he have to pay Bibleworks for it? In Christ AH (Attie) Bogaards If you upgraded from that licensed copy of BW09 to your licensed copy of BW10, the answer is found in this BibleWorks knowledge base article. This sentence is from that article: 'The rule on giving away upgraded copies is that one can do so only if the user buys out the upgrade so that the full price, and thus full royalties, have been paid on both copies.
This upgrade buyout is a requirement from our text licensors.' But since the business is closed, such a buyout is not possible. So such a gift may not be given. If you upgraded from that licensed copy of BW09 to your licensed copy of BW10, the answer is found in this BibleWorks knowledge base article. But since the business is closed, such a buyout is not possible. So such a gift may not be given. I understand.
In that case I will not do it. Thank you for the quick answer. How many extra modules existed for Bibleworks 10? Besides the program what existed of modules for Bibleworks 10? I'm still musing on what to do - iv heard the Aramaic in Accordance is the best, they have this package now on salg for 170 dollars or something which seems bit much. I'm thinking you get a lot overall with Bibleworks as well.
And I just hate the Mac design of Accordance. Why oh why did you have to close down Bibleworks.
At least I need to get me some kind of Aramaic module so I can check and have another witness. Anyone knows about the Ethiopian bibles if there is anything in one of the 3 big programs, Logos, Accordance and Bibleworks? They have this Ge'ez tongue. I'm impressed that you want to study the Ethiopic text! I did a search for 'Ethiopic Bible texts', and came up with a couple of things. Accordance does apparently have a partial Ethiopic Old Testament text (available. There is also a Website called ethiopicbible.com (where you can do searches.
BibleWorks has a feature called ERMI, which I haven't used very much, that lets you manage links to external sites such as this. There may be more, if you search further.
How many extra modules existed for Bibleworks 10?I think I have all the add-ons, and I count 24. That includes a couple in German and a couple which were sold as a package with each other. Besides the program what existed of modules for Bibleworks 10?

I am running BW 8 and am satisfied and don't plan on doing anything else. I had a friend who died and I was given His copy of BW 9, which I do not intend to use.
I plan on giving it to another friend, who is just beginning in the ministry. I do not think that there is any violation here since the dead friend paid for all this already. This thread was setup to facilitate transferring ownership of the BibleWorks program.
The usual license is for a single user on devices that he uses. That means that the program should be removed from the previous owner's computer (unless the entire computer is being transferred.
Then he would become the single user on that computer.) Codes usually are supplied by the previous owner. Perhaps there is some document or file that they could be retrieved from. At least you would need the activation code for BW09.
(This procedure is for BW10. I don't know if this works in BW09.) If the program is still able to be run on your friend's computer, the codes can be exported to a file. Open BibleWorks, click File, then Activate Database, Options near right lower corner, then Save activation codes to backup file. The file will contain the activation codes. If the program no longer works, the codes may still be found in the Windows registry unless they have been deleted. Even if the computer no longer works, if the hard drive works, it may be possible to retrieve them from the hard drive.
The best way to find out what codes your departed friend had purchased would be if BibleWorks is still on his computer, and you have access to it (as stated already). However, a perhaps bigger problem is that when BibleWorks closed down the company, they specifically stated that for the future only BibleWorks 10 would have any support. So it is possible that even with proper codes automatic the activation of BW9 may no longer work. For a month or so after the company supposedly ceased operation they still had someone available to manually get us caught up. But I suspect that at this time that person is no longer around.
It is worth a try, but do not be too surprised if activation does not work. BibleWorks always let you use it for a month before registering it, so it may still work, and I doubt if it will self destruct your computer after the probationary period. But I never tried using an unregistered copy, so I can't say what might happen if someone tried to install BW9 on a computer for the first time now and it could not be registered.
'At the end of June, 2018 program and database updates will no longer be available online, except for the BibleWorks 10 maintenance updates. If the following instructions are followed before the end of June, BibleWorks versions prior to version 10 will be able to be activated and installed after June 15, 2018:' The quotation above is from the knowledge base article AA-03061: Will Activation and Installation of BibleWorks Versions Before Version 10 Be Possible After June 15, 2018? V7ZZIJA0iphrVM8F-T1XF1s6agvS-VxKFzuxCrMJAf1t1nk0iuYGVwMsIhXjPQVjSS7g8v0A But even if you did not backup, you can still have something that has more value than no BW at all. Using the original installation media the program can be reinstalled and activated.
It cannot be updated as those updates are no longer available. You would be stuck there unless you have a backup of the program. But if you have backed up your Bible Works folder, it can be used to restore the program to the state it was in at the time of the backup. So if you are using an older version of BW, please back up the entire BW folder, backup the installation media, and backup your activation codes.
I have a copy of BibleWorks 10 for Mac for sale. Please PM me if you are interested. So could it work on a macbook air? By the way, how much is it? There is only one ISO (installation) file. Each installation requires an activation code to complete the installation so that BibleWorks can function.
That file and code alone are used to install BibleWorks on a Windows computer. On a Mac an additional file is needed. So technically there are not separate copies of BW for Mac and for Windows, but one installer ISO, one activation code, and an additional installer for a Mac. Please see for further details and download instructions. You might want to revise your post to indicate that you have an activation code for BW for sale and remove 'for Mac.'
Hopefully you have also sent a pm, private message, to jimmyroh in addition to your forum post. Can it work on a macbook air? See this post that deal with that issue. Wow, this was far more popular than I realized. It has now been claimed and found a new home. However, if you can get an activation code, I will try to copy the DVD so people can at least install it.
Seems like some people have activation codes but no source for the software.Original Post. I came across my old Bibleworks 8 and wanted to see if anyone wants it. I never upgraded and no longer use the software.
I’m not even sure if it still works. But if you want it, I’ll send it by mail.
Email me at soaroneagleswings at gmail. I’ll keep it for a few months in case someone comes across this forum, then toss it. I will not check these forums, so please email. Are the codes for BDAG/HALOT still available? And will they work in BW10? The activation code for BW7 (the program itself) was BW70-.
where. is a number. To protect the program from illegal distribution (and it was a problem) the activation code for later versions was changed to BW08-.-.-.-. where the.
is a number or letter It is the same format for BW09 and BW10 The current format for for BDAG/HALOT codes is the same. That is for BDAG-.-.-.-./HALOT-.-.-.-. If the BDAG/HALOT codes are not in that format, it is most unlikely that they would work. If they are in that format, there is a strong hope that they would work.
But since BW has closed it may be that the only way to find out would be to test them with an actual installation. Help - just realizing BW has closed - Can't open version 9 on my Mac. What do I do? Did you use the Mac installer to install the progam or are you running BW using Windows emulation?
What Mac OS are you running? When is the last time that you opened BW and it ran normally? What procedure do you use to start BW?
Open Activity Monitor. When you try to open BW, watch the Activity Monitor. Does it show BW trying to start or even running?
Were there any error messages? Do you still have an activation code and the installation files? Hey Folks, I have a number of BW Modules I'd like to sell.
I'm not selling a BW10 Activation code as I'm giving that away to a friend who had BW9, just selling modules, preferably I'd like to sell them as one package. DM me an offer. I personally purchased a few thousand dollars' worth of BibleWorks before the deadline, in order to make them available to those who may have missed the deadline, but still wish to purchase BibleWorks. I hope that this might help out a few people until, God willing, some store or school is authorized to resume selling BW10. I am offering the following for re-sale (I plan to keep the numbers up to date). I am offering them at cost, plus sales tax (6.25% which I am required to pay to my state) plus mailing (for USB drives).
BibleWorks 10 on USB drive ($211.44 + mailing either first class or priority mail) 0-4 copies left (The spread is the difference between the number who have said they would like a copy and those who have actually paid for one. As of July 29, 2018, I now have a waiting list. If someone has told me that he wants a copy, but does not pay for it soon, I shall take the copy I have reserved, and offer it to someone else on the waiting list.) BibleWorks 10 download ($211.44) all gone BDAG and HALOT combination activation codes ($225.25) all gone Sorry I can't provide more, but credit cards (and my prediction abilities) have limits. The USB drives arrived July 2.
The activation codes are available. When you purchase BW10, let me know if you need an upgrade code, because I have one for you. Since I am just a parish pastor, I cannot accept credit or debit card or PayPal payments. So payment has to be by check, money order, MoneyGram, or Western Union. If you wish to reserve or purchase any of the above, please contact me via e-mail at my name (without a space) at att.net. May God bless our use of this tool to teach His word, and especially to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mark Eddy I would like to purchase BW - do you still have a license to sell, and what is the price?

Marcus e bowen. I just saw today that BW is no longer selling BW. What do I do if my PC dies and I have to reinstall it on a new one? (As I recall, the installation needed to be authenticated online by BW.) How do I get the old updates to BW 8? The plan is that updates (I think you mean patches) for older versions of BibleWorks will not be available online. However, I do have all the latest patches stored on my one of my computers going back to BW5.
As long as my old hard drive doesn't crash, I could zip up the patches and e-mail them to anyone who needs them. I have being receiving BW material to give to Bible Scools from James Barr since BW7. Since it is closed, don't you think I deserve at least a BW10 activation code to use with the ISO image at the BW site? I am the guy that always asked for a full Macintosh BW version. The activation code of BW9 will work with version 10? Irineu De Carli Jr., Prof. As far as I know, at this point no new activation codes for BW10 can be bought or given out.
I still pray that there will be some way to do that in the future. The activation code of BW9 will NOT work with version 10. If you can purchase an activation code for BW10 from someone (e.g.
Someone who decides no longer to use BW10), I have some left-over upgrade codes from BW9 to 10 which might help you. I just saw today that BW is no longer selling BW. What do I do if my PC dies and I have to reinstall it on a new one?
(As I recall, the installation needed to be authenticated online by BW.) How do I get the old updates to BW 8? I wonder if the patches you have for the old versions could be put on the forum for download as the user-made databases?
PS I found my old documentation and the activation codes were emailed to me. Fortunately, I have a hard copy of the email. This should answer your questions.
This is a brief summary of the article. You must backup the BW8 forlder to something separate from your old PC. You must backup your BW 8 activation codes to something separate from your old PC. You must have a copy of the BW installtion media separate from your PC. Store them all in a safe place. In the future you can use the copy of the BW installation media to install a new but not-updated copy of BW 8. The activation of BW8 still works online.
The upate process does not work online. But if your present BW 8 installation is fully updated then you can use it. Restore the backup and it will overwrite the old not-updated version with your current updated version. Then the new will work the same as the old. But both steps are needed. A new installtion is needed for BW to work on a new PC.
The old can be used to update the newly activated version. I have thought about having patches available.
I would suggest this instead. Have the progam folder of fully updated versions of BW8 and BW9 available online. They could be used as described in the knowledgebase article above. Then that backup should be able to update the old. I think there might be problems assembling all of the patches and then making sure that they would work on BW installations that would be different sub-versions of BW8 or BW9.
But using either patches or a backup would only be worth doing if there was enough interest. If I zip up all the most recent patches for previous versions of BW, anyone who wants them can e-mail me at my name (without a space) at att.net. I can attach the zipped file to my reply to your e-mail.
If the folks in charge of the unofficial BibleWorks blog would want to host these zip files, I could send them that way. After unzipping the patches, each user would have to choose which patches he wants to apply. So you just ignore any patches for databases which you do not have or want. I don't know how many of them are aware that BW has shut down.
